LATM- Serving the International Body of Christ

When I think of Literature and Teaching Ministry, my mind goes back to a moment of clarity. It happened when I saw a photograph of an Asian young man who was pointing at a very few books in a large bookcase. What he was indicating was the total Christian library available to him and his co-leaders in their own heart language. I was deeply touched to see a visual demonstration of such a significant need.

My own library consists of hundreds and hundreds of books, many of which have proven to be very valuable to my ministry. The thought of those brothers, and thousands like them, without important tools for ministry is convicting to my heart.

LATM is a strategic ministry. The church of Jesus Christ around the world has grown at an astonishing rate in recent decades. One of the most helpful things that we can do from the resource-rich western perspective is to provide the kinds of partnerships and materials that truly assist our brothers and sisters in other cultures.

The purpose of LATM is leverage. In many ways, the kinds of books which LATM places in the hands of international church leaders are like power tools. Our partnership with Christians worldwide places in their hands the very means by which their ministries can be multiplied and leveraged.

The thought of one million power tools – wow. Praise the dear Lord!
