It’s still 2020. Hard to forget, right? But you want to finish the year well, moving into 2021 ready to meet its opportunities and challenges. You probably think that it would be good to help others do the same thing. There’s a problem, though.
Yeah, you don’t know the people you might be able to help. You don’t even know what they need. Well, the people I’m talking about are all around the world. They speak languages you don’t speak. They are Christians and church leaders in nearly 20 different countries who are waiting for books to help them grow in their faith in Christ or share the gospel of Christ with people around them.
There’s another problem. The books they need are ready to be published right now. But the money to get the presses rolling isn’t there.
That’s right, many Christian leaders worldwide have been hard at work following the advice of Solomon, The words of the wise prod us to live well. They’re like nails hammered home, holding life together. They are given by God, the one Shepherd. (Proverbs 12:12) And they’ve been putting wise words in books for their people to read in their native languages. But people who have the resources (that’s you) haven’t come together as much as you could have to combine your resources and get the books published.
There’s also one more problem and it’s probably the most difficult to deal with. You know it because as a Christian, you have a deeper sense of understanding of God’s work in the world. The problem is that you know in your heart that Christians should pool their resources to get these books published for your brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
Let’s sit on the realization of these problems for a couple of days. Pray and ask God to give you insight into their implications.
While you’re doing that, click below to watch a video that shows the problem, but also shows what happens when the problem is dealt with head on.
