Did you have a good Thanksgiving? I hope you did! It’s great to remember God’s goodness and how He has provided everything we have. He is good!
As you move into the season when we remember how God came into the world and began to reveal His goodness through Christ, your heart is more motivated than ever to help others learn and grow in the knowledge you have. In fact, you’re probably a forward-looking person who sees what happens when God’s people work together, sharing, and channeling resources to others who need them and can use them for God’s glory in their communities.
Take seriously the impact your resources could have on Maasai church leaders who are discipling their people in Kenya. Consider how Christian books in the Lisu language of SE Asia can transform lives through Christ, blessing their families and neighbors. Imagine how evangelists in India – the most populous country in the world – can grow and strengthen their understanding of Bible truth as they share the gospel with Hindu and Muslim neighbors. And reflect on the fact that God will use these resources to do His will to change people’s life stories and fulfill their heart’s desire for peace in the midst of the struggles of life.
Paul wrote these words to the Philippians, I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
THIS is what we’re aiming for. THIS is what happens between Christians around the world when we come together, share resources from one place to another and help our brothers and sisters publish books for evangelism, Christian development, leadership training, and much more, all for God’s glory!
Would you take time to pray about how God might work through you and others like you, to publish these 28 book projects as 2020 ends and 2021 begins? And as you pray, will you consider how He might use some of your resources towards this effort?
Here are two chapters from Gary Habermas’ The Historical Jesus which people like you helped publish in Russian with our Field Partner in Ukraine. Enjoy the chapters and let them build confidence in ending your year well and helping others do the same. We can all move into 2021 in the partnership that only comes through the gospel of Christ.
