٧جينَيذِ دَعا هِيرُونُسُ الْمَجُومَ سِرَاً وَتَحَفُّقَ مِلْهُمْ زِمَانَ النَّجْم الَّذِي ظَهرَ. ٨ثُمٌ أَرْسَلَهُمْ إلَى
بَيْتٍ لَحْع وَقَالَ: «اذْهَبُوا وَافْحَصُوا بِالتَّنْقِيقِ عَنِ الصَّبِيِّ وَمَنَّى وَجَدْتمُوهُ فَأخْبِزَوبِي لِكيْ آتِيَ
أَنا أَيْضاً وَأسْجُّدَ لَهُ». ٩قَلْمًا سَمِعُوا مِنَ الْمَلِكِ ذَهَبُوا. وَإِذَا النَّجْمُ الَّذِي رَأَوْهُ فِي الْمَشْرِقِ
يَتقنّْمُهُّمْ حَتَّى جَاءَ وَوَقْفَ فَوْقُ حَيْث كَانَ الصَّبِيُّ. ١٠ فَلَمَّا رَأوْا النَّجْمَ فَرِحُوا فَرَحاً عَظِيماً
جداً ١١ وَأُتّْوا إلَى الْبَيْتِ وَرَأُوْا الصَّبِيِّ مَعَ مَزْيَمَ أُمَّهِ فَخَرُّوا وَسَجَدُوا لَهُ ثُمَّ فَتَحُوا كُنُورَهُمْ
وَقَتّْمُوا لَهُ هَدَايَا: ذَهَباً وَلَيَاناً وَمُراْ. ١٢ ثُمّ إذْ أُوجِيَ إلَيْهِمْ فِي حُلْم أَنْ لاَ يَرْجِعُوا إِلَى
هِيرُونمن الصَرَفُوا فِي طَرِيقٍ أَخْرَى إلَى كُورَتِهمْ.

Then Herod secretly summoned the Magi and ascertained from them the exact time the star had appeared. Then he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.” After they had heard the king, they departed. And behold, the star that they had seen in the east went before them, until it came and stood over where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they came into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.
