Мы так думали, но так или иначе большинство из нас неосознанно переносят в свою новую жизнь старый, мертвый взгляд на мир. Мы не могли соответствовать созданному нами стандарту, поэтому убедили себя, что он Божий. Мы читали Его слова сквозь призму стыда и чувствовали, как все больше и больше отстаем. Мы вымещали это друг на друге, осуждая, сравнивая, притворяясь, разделяясь. Некоторые из нас отошли от всей этой игры, став циничными, недоверчивыми, утратившими надежду. Наши браки, церкви, семьи, дружба, рынки, культуры… все они нуждаются в исцелении. Но Божье исцеление редко приходит в той форме, которую мы ожидаем. А что, если Бог на самом деле не тот, кем мы Его считаем… и мы тоже?

We thought we had found the antidote…

At least that’s what we thought. Unwittingly, however, most of us continue to carry our old perceptions into our new life. We couldn’t live up to the standards we created for it and we were convinced that God created them. We read his words in the Bible – through the prism of the shame we created and thus, found ourselves further and further behind in the struggle for “perfection”. We ended up blaming each other, blaming, comparing, pretending. Some of us withdrew from this whole process, having become cynical, unwilling to trust, desperate. Our marriage, our church, our family, our friendships, our work, our culture… all need the antidote. But God’s antidote rarely comes in the form we expect. What if God isn’t who we think he is after all… but neither are we.
