Title: The Scheme of Redemption Workbook 5
Author: Robert Milligan
The ancient Jews believed in the Law, and the Greeks sought wisdom as a means of justification and sanctification. Yet, despite all these efforts, the supposedly wise world does not know God. In its wisdom, the world fails to understand and accept God’s plan of redemption for sinful mankind. In fact, the very message of that plan of redemption is viewed as foolishness by those who are perishing (1 Cor. 1:18). Thanks be to God that through the teaching of His Word, God has been pleased to reveal the mystery of justification and salvation in Him to those who believe. The plan of redemption is communicated to and accepted by those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They are then called the church of God; and God has formed His church as the pillar and foundation of truth. God’s plan of redemption develops within the church, and at the same time works through the church to the world.
