Introduction
In the book of Acts, we see where Christians put Jesus’ commission into practice, when Jesus told them to go preach the good news to all the earth. People of many nations became converted, and learned to observe all that Jesus taught.
In this book, I want to help you see more clearly all the efforts that the first Christians made so that they could become witnesses for Christ in all parts of the world. In the book of Acts, we see evidence of the work of other people than Peter, Philip, and Paul, but we have no way of knowing all the details. Undoubtedly, there were thousands of Christians who were witnessing for Christ everywhere they went. What Luke tells us in the book of Acts and the writings of Paul helps us see only small pieces of the work of these people. I hope that you, the student, will feel the encouragement and passion that I felt when I was writing this study.
When I was writing this study, I allowed history to guide me, while at the same time, I included teachings and examples that are important for us to fulfill Christ’s command to preach to the whole world!
I have to give special thanks to Wayne Meece who evaluated the lessons and had many good ideas on how I could correct them and make them better. I must give special thanks to Marjorie Perry who helped a lot in the secretarial domain, in the preparation of this book. I thank my wife for her patience during this long period of work.
